FATZER ropes for the Menai bridge
FATZER feels very privileged to have been involved in the renewal of the historic Menai Bridge (UK).
We were able to supply a total of 1.3 kilometers of rope with a diameter of 34 millimeters and 346 sockets.
The Menai Suspension Bridge is a chain bridge between the mainland of Wales and the island of Anglesey. Built by the Scottish builder Thomas Telford in 1826, it surpassed all previously built bridges with a span of 176 meters and was therefore called the first modern suspension bridge in the world. We always experienced an open and positive attitude in work with the owner, the general contractor and the engineers. This was essential to meet the high requirements and to live up to the legacy of British engineering.
